My Personal Review

Chris Cade’s Inscribe Your Life Program Review

What is it?

Inscribe Your Life is a writing program, developed by the founder of spiritual-short-stories.com, Chris Cade. It is fundamentally centered around using creative writing as a tool for self exploration. In other words, it teaches writing for spiritual growth. Spiritual here doesn’t necessarily concerned with religion or the church (no mention of one and no direct reference to any holy books). It’s more about getting in touch with our inner self and our emotions.

Who is it for?

For newer writers or first time writers, this is a great way to start, since early in the guide, Chris gives simple yet effective advice to overcome doubts and fears. According to him, even if you complete this entire program and do not feel compelled to write one single story, you will find this process of story writing to be both insightful and inspiring during your spiritual journey.

And experienced writers will also benefit from this unique and less structured approach.

A word of caution, though:

If you’re in a hurry to re-write the story of your life and looking for a quick fix for your “issues”, this isn’t the tool.

Translation: It takes work.

HOWEVER – that said, this is something where all the necessary supporting materials are provided as part of the program such that when the time is right you WILL write, and the story WILL flow to you.

In addition, this is not composition 101, nor is it loaded with rules and structures for others to approve.

It’s a model that, through writer’s exercises and self-exploration exercises, allows you to discover ways to transform your life through creating a new story and simultaneously become both the author and hero in your new life story.

And myself?

I’ve already started my “storyscribe notebook” and recorded at least 11 set of notes comprising of ideas, memoirs, self-realizations and conflicts. Just by doing this, I think I validate the one major issue I’ve been having with myself (rather not share here) since childhood. Now my mission is to seek solution to overcome this feeling and self opinion.

And I haven’t even finished my first draft yet. But not to worry, the workbook has already taught me how to mentally prepare, get my first idea, choose my perspective and identify the conflict. Of course there’s more to it.

What I like most is when Chris wrote (in the workbook), “In fact, you will find the greatest value from this workbook if you complete the exercises on different days, and in no specific order. You may even find yourself drawn to repeat certain sections without ever completing other sections. This is okay — remember, this is YOUR process of discovery, and it’s up to you to do what feels right… even if it doesn’t always make logical sense.”

Yet there’s another secret that will make you feel at ease with the whole process. I’ll let you discover this yourself.

Conclusion:

Chris Cade’s Incsribe Your Life is more than just lessons to write stories. The program liberates us from all fear of writing once we bocome aware of what the fears are based on. According to Chris, “…the stories are as much for the writers as they are for those who read them”. Going through the process itself, regardless of the outcome that is whether you actually write and never write the stories, at the very least it will be insightful and emotionally inspiring. This is writing for spiritual growth.

To quote the author:

“The degree to which you benefit from this program is directly related to the amount of energy and courage you show in exploring yourself more deeply.”

The verdict:

Well worth a look…

Take care.

Sincerely,

Rof
